Alexandra Balog (piano) “I believe that the musical profession is a unique combination of deep creation and the art of the moment. This is what captivates me and serves as a constant inspiration”, Alexandra Balog, pianist, confessed in a project. She graduated with honours from the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2019 and will continue her postgraduate studies at the Kunstuniversität Graz from 2021. His competition achievements include winning the 2017 International Béla Bartók Piano Competition in Graz and first prize at the 2022 Liszt Competition in Spain. He is a true team player: in 2020, he was appointed artistic director of the Bard College programme in the US-China and, together with Mihály Berecz, he directs the Altalena Music Community, a group of young artists. Their flagship event is the Altalena Music Festival and Summer Academy, which focuses on world-class classical music education and a carefully curated series of concerts in conjunction with masterclasses. Openness, sensitivity and awareness are also the hallmarks of this concert programme, which traces a vast arc between the 19th and 20th centuries. It has been almost 90 years since the premiere of Beethoven’s piano sonata with Berg. The Schumann work, which is wedged chronologically between the two, will close the evening.
