SlowXmas Budapest

For the sixth time, themed and shopping streets will come together as part of the SlowXmas series of events for a more intimate, relaxed Christmas focused on the holidays rather than shopping. The initiative, which will run until 24 December, will take place on 4 streets in Budapest, with concerts, workshops, literary and children’s programs, theatre performances, exhibitions and special gifts awaiting visitors. Instead of crowded shopping malls, the Falk Art&Antique Street (Falk Miksa Street), Bartók Béla Boulevard (Bartók Béla út), Fashion Street (Deák Ferenc Street) and Ráday Soho (Ráday Street) will offer experiences and art.

The cavalcade of programmes is available on the “Bevásárlóutca Menedzsment” (BUM) website, created and supported by the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Slow down and recharge! A rewarding way to relax during the Advent season.
Exhibitions, hot chocolate, crafts with the family, fine wine and good music with friends – that’s how you can spend Advent with SlowXmas instead of stressfully browsing the shopping centres. Once again, Shopping Street Management (BUM) has put together a selection of Advent activities on Budapest’s biggest streets, focusing on slowing down instead of rushing, and on intimate, shared activities. This year, among the delicious gastronomic specialities and soul-warming cultural events, you can also buy your Christmas presents for the holidays.
