Literary Gala Night

On November 11, we will pay tribute to the centenary of the birth of Ágnes Nagy Nemes, Kossuth Prize-winning poet at the MOM Cultural Center. The gala evening will highlight the poet’s life and personality through a variety of programs. Through the performances of the performing artists, you can get to know their personal, private readings of the 20th century literary history and the poetry of Ágnes Nagy Nemes.

The gala evening on November 11 addresses the performing artists and the audience in a two-act performance: how do we think of Ágnes Nemes Nagy, how does the 20th century live in us? What do we get from the poetry of Ágnes Nagy Nemes?
With our guests, through their personal connections, musical and literary works, a personal, private reading is revealed – it becomes clear which poem is closest to Zoltán Beck, how Gabriella Hámori meets Nemes Nagy as an artist, what this “objective” poetry gave to Krisztián Grecsó and Zsolna Ugron and how does Ágnes Gergely remembers the poet. This evening will see the debut of Dorina Takács’s / Дeva’s poem adaptation, and this evening will be the Budapest presentation of the “Nem akarok” life work performance which pays tribute to Ágnes Nagy Nemes, born 100 years ago.
I DON’T WANT TO – The performance is directed by the actor Miklós H. Vecsei, composed and accompanied by Erik Tempfli on the piano, singer Bori Hegedűs in the role of Ágnes Nemes Nagy, the editor and narrator of the performance is the writer Anna Juhász, adapted for the stage by Panna Horváth.
