The “Verzió” International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival is preparing an informative and intriguing VR section this month. Between November 9 and 12, those interested can see 360-degree VR videos and participate in interactive VR experiences that provide insight into the situation of marginalized individuals and current social problems. The goal is to shed light on the social benefits of these gradually more and more popular formats, which allow us to see perspectives and experience experiences that we would have had few opportunities for in our everyday lives.
Vektor presents 360-degree VR videos and interactive VR experiences that help explore the workings, possibilities and potential social benefits of these formats.
The primary goal of this year’s selection of the program is for visitors to gain new, perceptive knowledge about the situation of marginalized individuals and current social problems with the help of immersive media and technologies.
It “teleports” the recipients into life situations that show how different mental health conditions can be presented in a new way; or precisely how women can end up in isolated situations where their vulnerability is taken advantage of.
The technology of virtual reality allows people to experience unusual, or even surreal, extraordinary situations that are different from everyday situations. Through it, we can experience experiences that give a sense of liminality, in which unknown stories and perspectives are revealed to us, or we can even experience our own state of mind and our own world from a new perspective.
The productions are only presented in English!
The event is supported by the International Visegrad Fund, the National Cultural Fund, Code and Soda and E10. Entrance is free.
