SUP Tours Budapest

One of the most special events of summer evenings returns to the capital this year: the SUP Budapest sunset and dawn paddles are once again available from the banks of the River Roma.

The two-hour rides along the Danube River reveal a whole new face of Budapest: from the water, the hustle and bustle of the city subsides, the iconic buildings line up majestically, and a more peaceful, quieter, yet stunning Budapest emerges. Whether it’s a relaxing break after a long day at work or a refreshing adventure to start the day, these tours offer both a chance to recharge and explore.

Tours run several times a week throughout the summer, with morning and evening times to suit everyone. Participants meet at the Rome Beach base, where they take to the water after a short preparation and instruction. The route is particularly spectacular: paddlers will pass under the Hajógyári Island, Margaret Island, the Parliament and several bridges, all the way to Elisabeth Bridge, where the tour ends. The panorama is unique and the experience is both calming and inspiring. Not only the scenery, but also the community experience is memorable, as SUP Budapest tours take place in an open, friendly environment where beginners and advanced riders alike can feel at home.

No previous SUP experience is necessary to participate in the programme, as everyone will receive training before starting, but a good knowledge of swimming is a prerequisite. Equipment – board, paddle, life jacket – is provided by the organisers, and the price includes a waterproof bag for smaller valuables. If you bring your own SUP, you can also join in, but you will need to buy a ticket and bring your own life jacket. Return transport is not provided during the programme, but the organisers will be happy to help with board transport. Sportswear, swimsuit, water shoes or slippers are recommended – paddling barefoot on the board.

The event is run with small groups, so it is advisable to book in advance for the date of your choice. If the weather is not good, tickets can be re-booked, transferred or refunded. SUP Budapest tours are not just sports activities, they are real urban experiences that show Budapest from a new perspective – straight from the surface of the Danube.
