Come and learn to play the drums! The drum school is celebrating its first successful year of existence. During this time it has become a place where rhythm and music lovers of all levels – from complete beginners to advanced players – meet.
The school offers both individual and group drumming courses for adults, taught by experienced and dedicated teachers. Courses focus not only on playing technique, but also on musical expression, creativity and the joy of music.
Student concerts where course participants can try playing in front of an audience, workshops with professional musicians, and a variety of collaborative activities that build community and foster motivation to learn and progress are all part of life at Beat Space.
In this way, Beat Space is not just a school, but also a vibrant community of people who share a love of music and a desire to develop. A year since its inception, Beat Space has established itself as a unique space where rhythm comes alive.
Why play drums? 🙂
1. Connecting the hemispheres
Playing drums requires each hand and foot to do something different – for example, the right hand plays the cymbal, the left the drum, the right foot the kick, the left the hi-hat. Such independent coordination strongly activates and connects both the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Percussion forces the left hemisphere (logical) and the right hemisphere (creative) to work together – you learn to feel the music and think tactically at the same time.
2. Improving concentration and reactions
This simultaneous activity of different parts of the body and mind leads to a better connection between the hemispheres, which also manifests itself outside of music – for example, when studying, playing sports or solving problems. Playing the drums requires hand, foot and eye coordination, which helps to improve both fine and gross motor skills.
3. Improving concentration and discipline
When playing, you need to listen, concentrate on the rhythm and follow the structure. This also helps with the ability to work on tasks systematically.
4. Musical sensitivity and rhythm
Drums are a great tool for understanding rhythm and tempo, which is the foundation for any other musical instrument.
5. Self-expression and emotion
Playing the drums allows you to express your emotions naturally and energetically. It also helps in coping with stress or frustration.
6. Fun and confidence
Drumming is dynamic and fun.
7. Teamwork
You will learn to listen to others, respect a common rhythm and contribute to team performance. This experience helps build social skills, responsibility and the ability to work together – important qualities for everyone’s life.
