Charity run

Do you want to support a good cause while playing sports and meeting other cool people? Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 22, 2025. You’ll get some sport in, run through places that are inaccessible to the public, and help a good cause. Again, all proceeds from the entry fee will go towards improving conditions at the Primate Pavilion.

The oRUNgutan Charity Run is a charity sporting event organised by ZOO Bratislavam for all ages – from the youngest children to adults, including professional runners and recreational enthusiasts.

📅 When and where does the run take place?

The second edition of the oRUNgutan charity run will take place on Sunday 22 June 2025 in the grounds of the Bratislava Zoo, Mlynská dolina 1A. The event runs from 10:00 to 14:00.

👟 Categories and tracks

The run offers various disciplines adapted to the age and abilities of the participants. The race is run in accordance with the rules of the Slovak Athletic Association and in accordance with these regulations.

Children’s races:

150 m (children 1–5 years old) – non-competitive race with the possibility of parental assistance.

350 m (children 6–8 years old) – competitive race with time measurement.

450 m (children 9–12 years old) – competitive race with time measurement.

Main races:

3.5 km – circuit within the Bratislava Zoo, suitable for all age categories, including families with children.

7 km – intended for runners from 13 years old.

Disciplines for adults – take place from approximately 11:00 a.m., there are two main disciplines to choose from, both are competitive, properly timed.

💶 Entry fee and registration

Each participant will receive a starting package, which includes free admission to the Bratislava Zoo, a starting number with a timing chip (for competition categories) and refreshments after the race.

1. The first round of online registration will end on 16.6.2025.

2. The second round of online registration will end on 19.6.2025.

3.Registration (in case of not meeting the participation limit) at the venue on the day of the race on May 24, 2025 is possible until 9:00 a.m. and the participant pays the following entry fee (payment is only possible in cash, thank you very much for your understanding)

A participant becomes registered only after paying the entry fee. Immediately after paying the entry fee, your name will appear in the list of registered participants and you will receive an email with confirmation.

Personal registration and collection of entry packages

Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in front of the main entrance to the Bratislava Zoo.

The starter package includes:

– free entry to ZOO Bratislava for all duly registered participants

– starting number with a chip for time measurement (chip will be given to participants of the main race – WOMEN, MEN – discipline 3.5 km and 7.5 km and children in the discipline 350 meters and 450 meters)

– a package for each duly registered runner

– refreshment after reaching the finish line: water, fruit, soft drink

Ensuring the safety of the participants

The entire running route will be properly marked and secured by the organizers of the run. The organizational service will have reflective vests with the organizer’s markings.

Possibility to store personal belongings in a guarded storage room – an external tent behind the main entrance to the zoo. A changing room will not be available.

Transport:

Public transport – buses on lines 31, 32, 37 and 39, ZOO stop

Bicycles – safe racks are located in front of the entrance to the ZOO

Car – parking in the public parking lot at Bratislava Zoo. Capacity is limited, so if you can, please use another mode of transport.

🧡 Why participate?

By participating in the oRUNgutan charity run you will support the improvement of the living conditions of primates in ZOO Bratislava. The first edition in 2024 attracted 550 runners and raised almost €9,000, which was used to upgrade the Primate Pavilion.
