Why sign your child up for sports? We give you 8 good reasons!
1. Physical health
Sport helps children develop strong muscles and bones, improves cardiovascular fitness and promotes a healthy weight.
2. Social skills
Sports provide opportunities for children to interact with peers, learn teamwork, and develop friendships.
3. Discipline and time management
Involvement in sport teaches children the importance of discipline, as they need to practice regularly and manage their time to be able to fit sport around schoolwork and other activities.
4. Self-confidence and self-esteem
Achieving big or small goals in sport can boost a child’s confidence and self-esteem. Learning to overcome challenges in sports carries over into other areas of life.
5. Mental health
Regular physical activity through sport can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression in children. It can also improve mood and overall emotional well-being.
6. Skills development
Sport helps children develop a variety of skills including motor skills, coordination and strategic thinking.
7. Life habits
Involvement in sport at a young age encourages children to lead active lifestyles that lead to healthier habits in adulthood.
