Theatre Night Bratislava

Every year, on the third Saturday of November, theatres across Slovakia keep their doors open much longer than usual. Why? Because it’s time for the Night of Theatres! The 17th edition of this popular cultural event will take place on Saturday, 21 November 2026.

The nationwide event, Night of Theatres, is part of the European Night of Theatres initiative. Every third Saturday in November, it celebrates theatre in a creative and unconventional way, with performances and activities continuing late into the night.

During the Night of Theatres, visitors can explore, discover, participate in special activities or simply sit back and enjoy unforgettable theatrical experiences throughout the evening.

The 17th edition brings together theatres, cultural institutions, cultural centres and art schools across 29 cities and towns throughout Slovakia.

🎭 Night of Theatres 2026 in Bratislava

1. Divadlo Nová scéna (New Stage Theatre)

17:00 – Matilda

A magical family musical about an extraordinary girl who proves that courage, imagination and a love of books can change the world. After the performance, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the cast.

2. Štúdio 12

17:00 – Thank you, I’m fine

A staged reading of a contemporary play by Lenka Tomandl Čepková, exploring motherhood, women’s experiences, love and the freedom to make decisions about one’s own life.

20:00 – PROJEKT YZ

A concert featuring experimental and meditative music that brings two generations together.

3. Red Cat Cabaret

20:00 – True story 80’s – 90’s show

An entertaining cabaret show that takes audiences on a journey back to the 1980s and 1990s. Expect music, dancing, humour and extravagant costumes.

4. DK Zrkadlový háj

16:00 – Rady skúseného diabla (The Screwtape Letters) – Divadlo Ichtis, followed by a discussion

17:30 – Independent Theatre Today – A discussion with Michal Havran and guests

19:00 – Collective Applause

19:10 – Lesom (Through the Forest) – Divadlo Š.E.M., followed by a discussion

21:00 – P0P2 – Divadlo TUCET, followed by a discussion

23:00 – Afterparty – Kodiki & Boris Vitázek

01:00 – DJ Set – Kristofino & Karasek

5. Malá scéna STU (STU Small Stage)

19:00 – The Old man and the sea

A theatrical adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s famous story, combining acting, puppetry, movement and live sound design.

6. Slovak National Theatre

18:30 – Conversation with Choir Masters (Opera Salon)

19:00 – Bezočivec (Divadlo Zrakáč, Blue Salon)

A dark comedy about a blind man that challenges stereotypes and offers an unconventional perspective on living with visual impairment.

19:00 – Advent Concert by the Slovak National Theatre Opera Choir

7. Divadlo Aréna (Arena Theatre)
