Wandering around the hotels and inns of old Bratislava. A talk about Bratislava with our guide Ján Vyhnánek.

Get to know the famous and lesser known hotels from Bratislava’s past, many of which have already disappeared. We will show you where they were located, what is located on their site nowadays, recall the personalities who visited them, as well as some other pearls from their history.

Do you know where the first Bratislava cabaret was located, where the first cinema screening took place in Bratislava, or how T. A. Edison? This and much more you will learn in the lecture of the guide Ján Vyhnánek. The lecture will be supplemented with rich visual material.

JÁN VYHNÁNEK

Graduated in law, worked at the Department of Legal History of Charles University. He works as an output editor of the Encyclopedic Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, is the head of the BKIS Tourism Guide course – focusing on native people, important visits, music and hotels. In the association Bratislavské rožky, he is the vice-chairman and expert guarantor of local history events. He has contributed to the Memory of Bratislava portal – he has described several thousand historical photographs of Bratislava. He is the co-author of the books The Musical Guide to Bratislava and Carlton Savoy – The Jewel of Bratislava.
