The beautiful surroundings of the garden by the Rusovce park and three concerts of great Slovak music – the legendary Peter Lipa, the genius musician Andrej Šeban and the young talented singer Nina Kohout will open this year’s concert jazz autumn on 10 September at the summer stage of SĽUK in Rusovce.
Peter Lipa, as the host and headliner of the concert evening, invites two guests – the legendary Andrej Šeban and the talented singer Nina Kohout. For several years now, it has been a tradition that the Bratislava Jazz Days festival opens with an open-air concert in Rusovce, and this year will be no different.
The evening will be opened by Nina Kohout, who will be performing at Open-air Jazz Days after a string of successful concerts at festivals abroad. In her music she combines mysterious shades of old Slovak folklore, classical music and the freshness of innovative trip-hop. Consequently, he creates his own timeless, sometimes uncomfortably strange and anarchic musical world.
The renowned guitarist, composer, producer and singer Andrej Šeban will perform solo and will return to Bratislava Jazz Days after a long break. During his career, he has collaborated with many local and foreign personalities of various musical genres. Among them are Pavol Hammel, Gábor Presser, Dežo Ursiny, Peter Lipa, Richard Müller, Marika Gombitová and Robo Grigorov. The concert will also feature songs from his upcoming album.
Peter Lipa Band, the father of Slovak jazz and one of the most important personalities of the Slovak jazz scene, will traditionally close the opening concert of BJD. In addition to his varied repertoire, he will also play songs from his successful new album NOLA.
