The concert of the Slovak band LASH & GREY is waiting for you on Wednesday, 23 August 2023 as part of the Cultural Summer in Bratislava.
The duo of singer Kristin Lash / Kristina Mihaľová with guitarist Jacob Grey / Jakub Šedivý is one of the most significant discoveries of the Slovak music scene in recent years. Lash & Grey have been collecting awards both at home and abroad and are increasingly appearing on world stages (Jazz Festival Wiesen, Paris Jazz Marathon, Jazztime Ravensburg, Fara Music Festival, Prague PROMS). Kristína was the only European to recently reach the finals of the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. The duo has released the award-winning albums Sleepin’ With The Lights On and Blossoms of Your World, which they will also present at their concert.
In 2017, Kristína Mihaľová and Jakub Šedivý won the New Faces of Slovak Jazz award, and for their first album ‘Sleepin’ with the Lights On’ from 2020, they were awarded Debut of the Year at the Radio_Head Awards. Last year they added another album, Blossoms of Your World, which has so far earned them three nominations at the RHA 2021 and the Czech Anděl Awards (Best Slovak Album). According to international magazine Artwood, it reveals inner scars and is a suggestive tour of the human touch at work.
