Little Scientists Afternoon

An engaging, family-friendly program where science becomes fun and accessible: the Little Scientists Afternoon returns in 2026, offering insight into how children think, learn, and develop.

During the event, both kids and parents can explore interactive stations that introduce topics such as memory, language, learning, and communication. The aim is to bring scientific research closer to everyday life through playful, hands-on experiences.

Visitors can discover, for example, how newborn brain activity works, the role of conversations in development, how our vocal cords function when speaking to children, or how we understand other people’s thoughts. At each station, you’ll have the chance to try real research methods in a simple and engaging way.

There will also be a buffet and a play area, ensuring that both younger and older participants can enjoy the afternoon comfortably.

The event is organized with the participation of several research institutions, including the Research Institute for Linguistics, the CEU BabyLab, and other Hungarian research groups.
