Karlin carnival

Traditional carnival festivities will return to the streets of Prague’s Karlín district on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Karlín Carnival 2026 will celebrate its 23rd edition, offering a rich program from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM filled with music, dance, costumes, great food, and entertainment for the whole family.

The carnival afternoon will begin in Kaizlovy sady Park, where the folk dance ensemble Šarvanci will perform at 1:00 PM. They will be followed by the popular Bratři v tricku, who are sure to entertain both children and adults. Around 1:30 PM, the traditional carnival parade will set off, passing along Křižíkova Street and heading toward Karlín Square. During the procession, masked participants will hand out sweet pastries to children, adding a playful and friendly atmosphere to the event.

The main program at Karlín Square will start at 2:00 PM with a performance by the lively band Šoulet, followed by concerts by Five O’Clock Tea and Portless. The musical lineup will be complemented by Irish dance performances, and the entire day will culminate in an impressive fire show, providing a spectacular finale to the carnival celebrations.

Children have not been forgotten either. At Karlínské Spektrum, young visitors can enjoy theatre fairy tales, creative workshops, and various activities, ensuring fun for the whole family. From 12:00 PM, stalls at Karlín Square will be open, offering traditional carnival treats, local specialties, and hot drinks that are an essential part of winter festivities.

Organizers encourage everyone to come in costumes and masks. This year’s recommended theme is SPORT, which will add an extra playful touch and help create an unforgettable carnival atmosphere.
