International Monkey Day

Prague Zoo has prepared a special program for 14 December 2025 to celebrate International Monkey Day, giving visitors the chance to explore the fascinating world of primates up close.

This themed day is ideal for families with children, animal lovers, and anyone interested in learning more about the behavior, differences, and similarities among various primate species.

Throughout the day, there will be commented feedings that introduce the natural behavior of primates and interesting facts about each species. The program includes:

10:30 Gorillas – Méfou Centre
11:00 Orangutans – Indonesian Jungle
14:00 Guenons – Dja Reserve
14:00 Capuchins – Water World & Monkey Islands
15:00 Gorillas – Dja Reserve

In addition to the feedings, an information and activity station “Meet the Primates” will be open from 10:00 to 16:00, where visitors can learn in a playful way which animals belong to the primate group, how they differ, and what they have in common.

The environments of the Indonesian Jungle, Dja Reserve, and Méfou Centre create authentic settings that allow visitors to observe primates in conditions similar to their natural habitats. The entire day combines education, entertainment, and a deeper understanding of endangered species and their conservation.
