If you love nature, panoramic views, and easily accessible hiking spots, Vienna’s Stadtwanderwege are the perfect choice. These marked city hiking routes lead you through forests, meadows, and hills around the capital, offering scenic viewpoints, resting spots, and even culinary stops along the way.

Highlighted Routes
#1 – Kahlenberg
About 11 km long, taking 3.5–4 hours to complete. From the top of the hill overlooking the Danube, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Vienna and the surrounding vineyards. Along the way, you can stop at several heuriger (wine taverns) to refresh yourself.

#4 – Jubiläumswarte
A shorter trail of about 7.2 km, taking 2.5–3 hours. It offers a peaceful forest walk leading to the 31-meter-high observation tower on Gallitzinberg, with a 360-degree panorama over Vienna and its surroundings.

The Jubiläumswarte Tower is open depending on weather conditions – it may be closed in winter or during slippery conditions. Admission is free.

Easily reachable by public transport – for Kahlenberg, take the U4 metro and D tram; for Jubiläumswarte, take the U3 metro and connecting buses.
