Downtown Festival

At the end of May, downtown Budapest once again turns into a huge open-air festival venue with the return of BelFeszt 2026. Over three days, visitors can enjoy concerts, design markets, family programs and community events across two of the city’s most popular public squares: Erzsébet tér and Szabadság tér.

The free festival brings together live music, contemporary design and family-friendly activities in the heart of the city. BelFeszt has become one of Budapest’s best-known downtown festivals, offering everything from daytime cultural programs to large evening concerts.

This year’s lineup includes several popular Hungarian artists and bands, including:
• Analog Balaton
• Fran Palermo
• Fish!
• Kerekes Band
• Deva
• Gypo Circus
• Marót Viki és a Nova Kultúr Zenekar
• ZÓRA

Beyond the concerts, visitors can explore the Paloma Artspace design market featuring local artists and handmade products, while the “Piacok Napja” community initiative highlights charity and social projects together with the Nem Adom Fel Foundation.

Sunday is dedicated to Children’s Day celebrations at Szabadság Square, featuring:
• Farkasházi Réka és a Tintanyúl concert
• vintage-style carousel
• inflatable castle
• retro games area
• petting zoo
• puppet theatre performances

Since the entire festival is free to attend, it’s easy to drop by for an afternoon in the sun, evening concerts with friends or a full family day in the city center.
