An unusual musical roamer for the whole family At a concert, when children are asked to point to the piano and ask what instrument they see, most of them will correctly call out the name.
The cello is more often “violin-like” in the same way. Just as the tuba is often called “trumpet”, or the clarinet “praline”! It is undeniable, however, that there are “star” instruments that everyone knows. But what if we say didgeridoo?! It’s not easy to say it! Or kaval? Or beatbox?
Now these are really special instruments that can be used to create very exciting music. And by getting to know them, you can learn a lot about instruments in general, and about music in particular. This is what we want to prove at this special RAMAZURI, where, as in previous years, the Hungarian House of Music will be transformed to welcome families who will be able to wander around and take part in a wide variety of activities. What’s more, those who collect stamps for their “passport” and visit several venues can even win a House of Music medal! And the knowledge of how to pronounce “didgeridoo”.
SCHEDULE
Between 10.30 and 12.30, visit at least 4 venues and fill your “passport” with stamps! Some events have a start time, but you’re sure to find a lonely and sad music teacher on the 2nd floor of the Hungarian House of Music! It is not possible to join the rotating sessions on the go, please wait for the next start time!
▷ The secret life of sounds – family beatbox theatre with János Fekete Jammal (Concert Hall, 120 people)
Beatbox: the instruments of János Fekete Jammal’s one-man orchestra are all in his throat. The musician not only says it, but also shows that everything can be imitated with the mouth: the sound of a door opening, a car braking, or even the dense noise of a shower. This time, the sounds of our lives appear on the podium, the sounds we no longer hear because they are so natural to us. But what happens when we encounter them in a different way? Let’s listen for a moment: they become music, a story, a tale!
Times: 10:35 – 11:15, 11:35 – 12:15
▷ Sound wanderer with Simon Pal Fejér (Auditorium – 50 people) The Sound wanderer is a great instrumental showcase that gives us an insight into the world of instruments and singers of different peoples’ music. The composer of the hit animated film The Swinging Eyes will take us on this exciting musical journey. You’ll hear African tongue drums, Turkish saz, Irish bodhran, but also Mongolian throat singing, horse-head fiddles and chessboard cigar box blues guitar.
Dates: 10:30, 10:45, 11:00, 11:15, 11:30, 11:45, 12:00, 12:15
▷ Special wind instruments with Gergő Vaskó (Music Education Room – 40 people) The performances will feature special instruments from the Australian continent, the Polynesian archipelago and South American tribes, such as the didgeridoo, the seashell horn and the rainstick, which are rarely heard live.
Dates: 10:30, 10:45, 11:00, 11:15, 11:30, 11:45, 12:00, 12:15 OTHER FOOD TAKING from 10:30 to 12:30 continuously on the 2nd floor of the building.
▷ Special Hungarian folk instruments with Enikő Kerekes (209 – LAB) ▷ Musical instruments from the kitchen with Judit Kőszegi-Simon (220 – Gyermekéteztető)
▷ Unusual music with Ottie Dorner (Library) Location. 22 March 10:30am
