Karlštejn Wine Harvest Festival 2024

On September 28th and 29th, 2024, the 26th annual Karlštejn Wine Harvest Festival, one of the most popular wine festivals in the Czech Republic, will take place at Karlštejn Castle.

Visitors can look forward to a rich two-day program that will transport them back to the era of Charles IV, the founder of the castle and the surrounding vineyards. The main highlight is the grand historical parade, where Emperor Charles IV and his entourage will walk from the vineyards to the castle, surrounded by period stalls featuring crafts and tastings of young wine and Karlštejn wines.

Karlštejn Castle is one of the most significant landmarks in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1348 by Charles IV as a place to store the coronation jewels and relics. This Gothic castle is situated in the picturesque landscape of the Czech Karst, not far from Prague, and continues to captivate visitors with its majesty and history. Visitors have the opportunity to explore not only the castle’s interiors but also its rich history, which includes royal treasures and the beautifully decorated Chapel of the Holy Cross.

During the wine harvest festival, in addition to wine, you can enjoy the atmosphere of medieval crafts and entertainment, which takes place both in the castle and its surroundings. The entire event lasts until the evening and offers experiences for the whole family. Children under 15, people in historical costumes, and holders of disability ID cards (ZTP and ZTP/P) with a companion have free entry.
