Art on Kanal Vienna

Kunst am Kanal Vienna – 18 years of WERK in VIENNA. WERK is celebrating its birthday and invites you to a party! It’s coming of age, so to speak. This year the festival will take place as usual in the second week of August. 

Admission is FREE!

And because we want to celebrate WERK’s birthday with YOU, we have spared no expense and effort again this year and prepared a small, fine open-air festival with wonderful acts and artists! After the concerts, the party continues in the club on Friday and Saturday. So go ahead and recharge your batteries.

With the KUNST am KANAL stamp (free to collect at the entrance to the KulturTerrasse) you can also get into the club all night at a reduced price of € 13! Enough words, now for the lineup.

Friday, August 09:

VENICE BLUE (20:00 – 21:00 / outdoor stage)

Venice Blue is a young, four-piece band from Vienna that musically focuses on the origins of rock music and combines styles such as R&B, funk and heavy metal, while smoky vocals, riffs and guitar solos take center stage.

These yoga:sessions will include powerful asanas as well as HIIT and calmer elements to promote both strength and relaxation. Dynamic movements and intense poses will strengthen the muscles and increase stamina. Between the
phases, calming stretches ensure relaxation and regeneration. The sessions are accompanied by atmospheric house beats. Both beginners and advanced students are welcome.

Saturday, August 10th:

VEZZ3 (20:00 – 21:00 / outdoor stage)

VEZZ 3 is a young band from Vienna whose mission is to weave instrumental and electronic music into a unique fabric. The three musicians Jonas Messner (drums), Martin Melzer (bass), and Gabriel Moser (guitar), draw inspiration from hip-hop, drum n’ bass, and the UK jazz scene and give instrumental groove-based sounds a new voice.

Drink & Paint (16:00 – 18:00 / outdoor stage)

Drink & Paint is a creative art event where you will be guided by artists to create your own work of art. Our 2-hour workshop is accompanied by a live DJ set and delicious drinks and is suitable for everyone. Whether you’ve never held a paintbrush before or are an experienced artist. Under the open summer sky, we will explore the spatula technique and impasto painting together at this Techno & Paint event. Acrylic paints and the palette knife technique can be used to create a variety of textures and a relief-like surface. Wax painters are also used for this motif. The melodic techno sounds take you on a journey and make you more willing to experiment.

Sunday, August 11th:

Flea Market 3000 (11:00 – 18:00 / Kulturterrasse)

Flea market 3000: The event for all vintage fashion lovers and traders. Various exhibitors sell mainly second-hand clothing for a whole day. There will also be sound, drinks and fine food.

This flea market is aimed at anyone who loves or trades vintage and designer clothing, as well as anyone who has a passion for stylish fashion.

On the Kulturterrasse, we offer you the perfect opportunity to buy or sell well-preserved items of clothing in a charming and cozy atmosphere. Not only can you discover unique fashion treasures here, but you can also help reduce the need for industrial overproduction. By reusing clothes and returning them to the recycling cycle, you are supporting a sustainable fashion culture.

In addition to vintage fashion stalls, our DJs will provide background music and create a relaxed atmosphere right on the Danube Canal. And for all the foodies among you, we have the Unicorn Palace – our new food stand that will provide you with snacks and drinks.

Nataša Katalina

Studied philosophy, mural painting, mosaic, art theory and media in Belgrade. She worked as a director of art workshops and various cultural projects in Belgrade and has been living as a freelance artist in Vienna for 3 years.

Dagmar Rohm

Studied painting with Christian Ludwig Attersee at the University of Applied Arts and at the drama school Prof. Krauss. She stands for projects of a musical, theatrical and painterly nature, in which the human-like to the unspeakable of time, including what has gone before, finds authentic reproduction.
