Hiperkarma Halloween Concert

This year, the Hiperkarma band will give a Halloween costume concert for the 14th time, this time on the Várkert Bazaar stage. One of the defining elements of the Hungarian music scene, the alternative band has been operating for 22 years and owe their success to their poem-like lyrics and continuous renewal.

ON OCTOBER 31, 2022, THE GATES OF THE WORLD OF THE DEAD WILL OPEN AGAIN FOR ONE NIGHT, AND THE HIPERKARMA BAND IS GIVING A COSTUMED MEGA CONCERT FOR THE 14TH TIME IN THEIR HONOR, AND FOR THE JOY OF ALL THOSE WHO KNOW THAT IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT IS AFTER DEATH AND RATHER WHAT IS AFTER LIFE…

The group led by Róbert Bérczesi has been operating for 22 years now, and during this time it has gone through many ups and downs, as well as several member changes, but it has remained unique in the Hungarian music palette mainly due to its text-centricity: Robi’s songs openly tell about our innermost anxieties, the most pressing questions of life, and about fighting our own demons.
The first album titled “Hiperkarma” was released in 2000 and was repeatedly referred to as one of the most important musical materials of the decade, and 3 years later Amondó was released, which – if possible – even surpassed the success of its predecessor.
A hiatus of more than 10 years followed; in the band’s songs, you can clearly follow Robi’s departure, but also the process of him finding his voice again.
After the hiatus, the band released their third LP in 2014, entitled Konyharegény, followed by Délibáb three years later, and A Napsütötte Rész in 2019, which can be considered a turning point in HIPERKARMA’s sound in many ways, and its title song’s lyrics written by Róbert Bérczesi has also won the Artisjus Award in 2019.

The concert’s guest artists are Rebeka Baka and Péter Sziámi Müller.
