Come raft the Little Danube with us! Rafting on the Little Danube is a truly unforgettable experience. In recent years, this river has even surpassed the popular Hron River, becoming the most popular rafting destination in Slovakia. Its accessibility plays a major role in this.
The Little Danube forms the largest river island in Europe. The area surrounding the Little Danube consists mostly of meadows and fields, which are, however, separated from the river itself by a strip of floodplain forest several dozen meters wide. The river’s water level remains almost constant, which is why the Little Danube is spared from major flooding.
The most beautiful and interesting sections stretch from the village of Zálesie to the confluence with the Klátovský branch near Topoľníky. However, you can start your trip as early as in Bratislava, from the Vrakúny Promenade. After 2 hours, you’ll paddle along the newly built promenade in Zálesie, where you can end your trip or continue on to Nová Dedinka or Tomášov. Later, the trip continues past the villages of Vlky, Hurbanova Ves, and Jelka. A popular spot to end the trip is the campsite by the watermill in Jelka. On a multi-day trip, you can end your adventure as far as Jahodná.
Danube river trips are organized from half-day to 2-day trips. During the trip, you can stop or even camp by the unique wooden water mills in Jelka and Tomášikovo.
It is suitable for families with children, groups of friends or colleagues, corporate events, and team-building activities. Thanks to its ease and low difficulty level, it is also ideal for complete beginners.
Boat and water sports equipment rentals on the Little Danube are available daily from April through September. We recommend reserving boats, canoes, or rafts several days in advance (or even several weeks in advance during peak season). We offer 2- to 3-person canoes or 6-person rafts (rafts are available only for short 2- to 3-hour trips).
Each boat comes equipped with paddles, life jackets, and a plastic dry bag.
Before the trip, the organizers will provide you with basic paddling instruction, advice, and tips about the route you’re about to take, campsites, snack bars, places where you can take a break, and sections of the river where you need to be a little more careful.
PRICE: from 22 € / canoe + equipment
Price of boat transport according to km traveled.
