Musica aeterna – 50 years of early music in Slovakia. In the period from 2 to 16 June 2023, 6 concerts will be presented to the Bratislava audience by artistic leaders in the field of early music interpretation from the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Cappella Pratensis, Collegium Marianum, Enrico Gatti, Guido Morini, Michaela Riener, Lotz Trio, Musica Florea, Musica aeterna, Czech Ensemble Baroque and Solamente naturali will provide an unforgettable experience in the beautiful spaces of the old town, such as the St. Martin’s Cathedral, the Mirror Hall of the Primatial Palace, the Concert Hall of the Klariska Church, the Moyzes Hall or the Column Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic.
The current 25th edition of the festival celebrates the 50th anniversary of the founding of the first Slovak professional early music ensemble MUSICA AETERNA, whose members were also at the birth of the Early Music Centre. It was the Early Music Centre that organised the 1st edition of this festival in 1996 and to this day is a co-organiser of this important international event.
