1. Vinyl & Music Festival in Ottakring

On the second weekend in March, on both Saturday and Sunday, the Ottakringer Brewery opens its doors to visitors for the annual vinyl and music festival. Expect the best DJs, live acts (like Orange Skies and Matho & the Vienna Dancehall Orchestra), panel discussions and even workshops. There’s also the Wiener Instrumente Salon and Indie Label Market, where you can pick up records, instruments, posters and vintage hi-fis. Numerous food trucks on-site offer some delish festival food. This year, the festival will take place from March 8-9.

2. SPARK Art Fair Vienna

In spring 2025, the time has finally arrived: the annual Spark Art Fair is back! From March 21 to 23, a different kind of international art fair happens within the architecturally-inspiring Marx Halle (famed for its exposed steel beams). This festival offers over 90 young and up-and-coming contemporary artists from Austria and abroad the opportunity to present their skills to a wide audience. The difference with this art fair is that every artist/gallery is given the exact amount of curation space, favoring not one over the other. Arrive at Marx Halle and enjoy a wide range of modern art mediums under one roof. A wonderful opportunity to spend a relaxing weekend.

3. Vintage Kilo Sale

Technically just over 45 minutes outside of Vienna, a world of vintage-inspired treasures awaits — we’re talking thousands of items, many of which are high-end designers and iconic brands! Dig your way through leather jackets, corsets, knitters, slip dresses, flannels, piles of denim, and so much more! One of Europe’s largest vintage kilo pop-ups takes place not once, nor twice but a whopping four times in March! However, the closest locations to Vienna this year are Krems (14-15 March) and Eisenstadt (28-29 March). Basically, all of your clothes are weighed at the end instead of at individual prices.

4. Vienna Blues Spring

Officially kicking off come 18 March, the Vienna Blues Spring starts in a big way this year, with a pre-opening gig by the Grammy-award-winning David Ellefson — former member of American metal band, Megadeth! But the good music doesn’t end there. The following evening guests are treated to another pre-show; this time with the classic Open House Blues Session directed by Herby Dunkel (free entrance to this one). The Blues Fest officially starts the following day, from 20th March to 31st May 2025. But most of the back-to-back music action takes place in March, with gigs wide-spread hereafter. Other festival acts to enjoy in March are the Riccardo Grosso Blues Band, Wolfman Gang feat. Peter Schubert, the Hamburg Blues Band and more.

The 2025 Vienna Restaurant Week kicks off on March 7 until March 16.

7. Yoga & Brunch

If you love doing yoga and you love to brunch, you’re in for a treat at this special little event: Yoga & Brunch. It’s precisely as it describes, and the day starts in the studio with a one-hour Vinyasa Flow session under the guidance of yogi, Andrea Filseker. If you’ve never tried yoga before, not to fear, the class is specifically designed to suit all levels, from novice to experienced. After a wind-down, head to the rooftop restaurant for Brunch o’clock, with food options off the a la carte menu. The class and brunch are charged separately, and it’s hosted at Zoku Vienna on March 15.

8. Vienna International Art and Antiques Fair

There’s something extra special in store for all lovers of yesteryears, and especially those who adore collecting antiquated items from these times! The Vienna International Art and Antiques Fair (also known as WIKAM) is back for its spring-time edition, hosted in the stunning 19th-century Venetian-Florentine-Trecento-style Palais Ferstel. Dealers and vendors from all over Austria, Italy and Germany congregate, selling off classical antiques (including jewellery, furniture, clocks, and carpets) and museum-worthy masterpieces! Thanks to this, it attracts the interest of many private collectors. Also here you can find modern and contemporary art! It takes place from March 8 to March 16, 2025.

9. Queer Karaoke Nights

Are you looking for an event that combines two things — queer culture and karaoke? Hosted at Villa Vida Café, show off your singing skills while hanging out with a welcoming community every Wednesday evening this March. This event is open to everyone and anyone, from experienced performers to those who just wanna have fun. Attending these events is not just fun and games, but also a wonderful way to support the LGBTQ+ community. If you’re seeking a lively evening of karaoke, look no further than Villa Vida Café. Other than karaoke nights, throughout March are a bunch of gaytastic events, like Queer Salsa Class (13+20/03), Drag Brunch (15/03), Gayme Night (also on the 15/03) and Dragalicious Bingo (28/03).

10. Easter Markets in Vienna

Can you believe that Easter is right around the corner?! Are you ready for this year’s Easter celebrations? Experience Austrian Easter traditions and visit one of the Easter markets throughout Vienna from March 27 to April 21. It all goes down in front of the  Schönbrunn Palace. Admire the enormous Easter egg towers at the Old Viennese Easter market on Freyung, plus musical performances here too. Or the beautiful arts and crafts at the Am Hof Market. Traditional dishes such as osterpinze (a soft bread typically served at Easter Time), lamb and other specialties are on offer at all locations. Pick one — or all — and soak up the unique atmosphere of the Viennese Easter traditions.
