Schönbrunn Palace Christmas Market is one of the most famous and popular Christmas markets in Vienna. It takes place directly in the historic grounds of Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburgs and one of the most important baroque buildings in Europe, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This market offers visitors a unique combination of history, culture and traditional Christmas atmosphere.
The market extends in front of the palace and in its baroque gardens, where more than 80 stalls offer traditional handicrafts, Christmas decorations, original gifts, toys and sweets.
Food and drink lovers can enjoy Christmas punch, hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, gingerbread and typical Austrian specialties such as bratwurst, Kaiserschmarrn, Stollen or apricot dumplings. The atmosphere is rounded off with musical performances, cultural programs and children’s workshops, making the market suitable for families, couples and individuals alike.
In addition to the market itself, there is also the opportunity to visit Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens.
