ZOOM Children’s Museum in the heart of the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna is a unique interactive museum for children where young visitors can learn, discover, touch and have new experiences through play. It is aimed at children from toddlers to teenagers up to the age of 14, and all activities are designed to encourage creativity, curiosity and the joy of discovery.
The museum offers various themed areas and programs. The ZOOM Hands-on Exhibition is an interactive exhibition for children aged around 6-12 years that teaches about art, science, architecture and everyday life in a playful way. ZOOM Ocean is a playful space with “ocean” elements for the youngest children (from around 8 months to 6 years), where children can develop their motor skills and imagination.
For creative and active visitors, there is the ZOOM Studio, where children can try out various artistic techniques in workshops, and the ZOOM Animation Studio, where older children and young people can work as directors, cameramen or sound designers and create their own animated films and multimedia projects. All programs at the ZOOM Children’s Museum have fixed schedules, so it is necessary to reserve tickets in advance – the number of participants is limited.
Tickets should be picked up at the ticket office about 15 minutes before the program begins. The museum is barrier-free and accessible, has wide entrances and elevators, and is friendly to visitors with companions or special needs.
These features make ZOOM an ideal family destination, especially in bad weather or if you’re looking for a creative and fun activity where children learn through play.
