At the end of the month, Vienna will become a stage for dialogue and debate when the Vienna Humanities Festival takes place from September 23 to 27, 2026. For five days, leading thinkers, authors, scholars, and activists from Austria and abroad will come together to discuss the most pressing issues of our time.
Under the theme “Agency / Do Something,” this year’s festival highlights the importance of agency and explores ways to counter the pervasive feeling of fear and helplessness.
The festival offers lectures, panel discussions, book presentations, and debates at renowned cultural venues such as the Wien Museum, the RadioKultursaal, the Volkstheater, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and the Bruno Kreisky Forum. Many events are designed to be interactive, inviting the audience to actively participate in the discussion.
