The owners of this special place, called Lena and Mate, found the idea for their business in Budapest, as you have probably already guessed! Hence, the name of the place. 😀 Although the frozen bagels come from the shop in Budapest, they are freshly baked every day in the Viennese shop. The owners are always creating new variations and seasonal specials and to keep it interesting, they also ask new fans on their Instagram for ideas for new bagels.
Almost all the ingredients come from either regional suppliers or from their own kitchen, e.g. pesto or their special onion jam. All left-over bagels from the day before are cut open and baked in the oven with three different types of cheese – which the favourite option of many regulars.
