Kultursommer Vienna

With around 1,000 acts, the Vienna Summer of Culture brings all genres of culture to the stage. The high-quality programme is a mixture of crowd-pullers and niche programmes. Dance and performance, theatre, cabaret, comedy and improv theatre, readings, spoken word and poetry slam, transcultural, participatory and interdisciplinary formats, contemporary circus, puppet and object theatre, jazz, folk and songwriting, electronic and experimental music, Austropop, Viennese song, folk music and Schlager: there is room for all of this under the umbrella of the Kultursommer!

From the traditional to the contemporary, from the popular to the daring, from the independent scene to established institutions: There is something for everyone – including children, young people and residents of retirement homes.

In 2023, the free open-air festival will again take place on stages all over Vienna. Artists from the fields of cabaret, literature, music, performance, dance, theatre and contemporary circus will provide cultural entertainment from the start of July to mid-August. In addition to the extensive evening programme, there is a children’s and family programme as well as a concert series in the pensioners’ houses.
