There’s no doubt that Dizzee Rascal is one of the most important inspirations for modern grime. The imaginative, energetic hybrid of UK garage, big drums and British hip-hop that he presented on his now iconic 2003 debut album ‘Boy in da Corner’ sounds as fresh and innovative today as it did 20 years ago. But like most pioneers, Dizzee Rascal wanted to move on. Something that has led to the experiments with dance music we find on hits like ‘Bonkers’ and ‘Dance Wiv’ from the album ‘Tongue ‘N Cheek’ or the poppy ‘Superman’ from ‘The Fifth’ in 2013.
