Florence Adooni

Ghana’s Frafra gospel queen Florence Adooni combines the best of Ghana’s Frafra and Ashanti cultures in her own irresistible fusion.

Born and raised in Ashanti’s capital Kumasi, she connects past and present in her melodic highlife, combining local Ghanaian traditions with pop, rock and jazz influences.

Together with Kumasi’s best young musicians, Adooni creates a unique sound, weaving winding guitars and horn attacks over an infectious groove.

Florence Adooni’s voice has been heard on Guy One’s radio hit “Estre” and on Alogte Oho’s Sounds of Joy album Mam Yinne Wa. Adooni has also released a number of albums under her own name, the latest of which was released as recently as May this year.

Now Ghana’s own frafra queen comes to jazz club Fasching for a unique visit!
