Frozen Soul

Frozen Soul took a shot at Texas’ rich metal scene in 2018. And they did it by recalling the hardest and most influential death metal band of the 80s. And it went from there. Old-school death metal in a modernized form proved to be a viable recipe.

Frozen Soul plows forward like a cursed King Bore. Listening to them is the feeling of slamming headfirst into a massive ice colossus of a sound wall. Death metal is often rightly and somewhat loosely described with words like “raw” and “powerful”. Frozen Soul sound is indeed the incarnation of such adjectives. With an atmosphere that is a copy of the cruelty of the Arctic cold and riffs that chop as wildly as a starving polar bear with a distinct sense of rhythm. Texas may be made up of plains and deserts, but Frozen Soul draws its power from the frosty winter.

This underground phenomenon is now in Sweden. Their Texas colleagues in Creeping Death are joining them. They come with a love of both Swedish death metal and Bay Area thrash. Finland’s Forseen is also joining, with its mix of hardcore and thrash. The American death quartet Phobophilic also joins, with rock-hard riffs and lyrics heavily inspired by horror writer H.P. Lovecraft.
