Mexican Mother´s Day

Welcome to the Ethnographic Museum and the celebration of Mother’s Day – Mexican style! A day filled with Mexican folk dance, music and more in honor of all mothers.

Price: Free admission to the outdoor activities. Material cost, SEK 50, is added for the workshop, paid on site.

Further information: To buy an annual pass, follow the link below. If you do not have an annual pass, you need to buy an entrance ticket to take part in the museum’s exhibitions. You buy the ticket on site. Under 19 years: free admission to the exhibitions.

Location at the museum: Museipark (In case of rain, the program moves into the museum)

Love songs and Mexican folk dancing!
Fast feet, swaying skirts, big hats, and lilting vocals in true Mexican style as the Mexico Lindo folk dance group and the Fiesta México mariachi band perform the best of the country’s traditional song and dance culture in two shows.
Time: 13:00 and 15:00
Location: Museipark (in case of rain: Auditorium)

Try your hand at Mexican folk dancing
Take a swing in the park to Mexican rhythms! Members of the Mexico Lindo folk dance group will demonstrate simple and more difficult steps. No prior knowledge required.

Show: ¡Viva México!
Join us for a family tour of the exhibition Viva Mexico!
Time: 12.00 – 12.30 and 16.00 – 16.30
Price: 0 SEK. Please note that an annual pass or entrance ticket to the museum is required.

Workshop: Mexican yarn boards
Time: 11.00 – 16.00
Material cost: 50 SEK
Location: Museiparken (in case of rain: Verkstan)
In the park there is also a Mexican market.
(in case of rain, the market moves into the museum’s gallery)
