Mothers of all ages, future mothers, it is time to take action. Your voices are needed for the future of your children. This event of activism for climate protection can only benefit your children, their future, which you hold in your hands at this moment..

THE REBEL MOTHERS CONTINUE THEIR REBELLION FOR THE CLIMATE AND TO PROTECT ALL LIVING THINGS

What?
The manifestation consists of occupying a place, which is done in a sitting/lying formation. Anyone who wants to can give a short speech of a few sentences about why they are participating. Meanwhile, the song “New Chapter” by Iiris Viljanen will be played. Please listen beforehand!
There are roles for both mothers/defining themselves as mothers and allies. You are needed!

WHERE?
We’ll gather in the Haunted Park and get ready. The demonstration itself will take place on a pedestrian street in central Stockholm.

WHEN?
September 10th. Gathering at 9am for new rebel moms and others who want action and non-violence training. At 10am, information about and preparation for the action itself. The action starts at 11!

WHY?
According to UNICEF, one billion children are already at extremely high risk of being affected by the consequences of climate change. The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) states that small or incremental changes are not enough and that shifts are needed in most parts of society.

The Climate Policy Council notes that Sweden will not reach its climate targets if the policy of change continues as slowly as it is now. At the same time, most parties are competing to reassure voters that things can continue as usual. Political inaction is leading us towards a future where the safety and health of our children is at risk.

ABOUT US
Rebel Moms brings together moms and allies who want to get involved in climate action. We are part of the Extinction Rebellion (XR), an international climate movement that uses peaceful civil disobedience to raise awareness and demand change and systemic change. The rebel mothers made a first concerted climate manifestation in Stockholm on 20 August in connection with the Uprising for Life.

OUR CLAIMS
SPEAK CLEAR: The government must declare an emergency for the climate and the Earth’s species and communicate with other actors the urgency to change.
ACT NOW: The government must act immediately to halt the loss of species and reduce Sweden’s climate emissions to net zero by 2025.
STRENGTHEN DEMOCRACY: The government must establish and be guided by a Citizens’ Council for Climate Justice and Ecological Sustainability.
STOP ALL FOSSIL SUBSIDIES: As a first step to move away from our fossil dependence, the state must end all fossil subsidies.
