Do you like taking pictures? Have you ever considered joining a photography competition? Then continue reading, Photo Marathon returns!

The biggest photo festival in the Nordic countries. A competition for all photo enthusiasts: 8 or 24 hours. On as many themes. Inside the borders.

Check-in
All participants check in at the same place. The admission takes place some time before the start shot. There you pick up your number plate and other material that you need to participate in the competition. Just before the competition starts, you will also receive the latest information from the competition management.

You will receive all information about where check-in takes place in connection with you buying a ticket.

Start
When the starting shot goes, you get your theme card, with the first four themes that you will photograph in a row.

On the thematic map you will also find the location of the next checkpoint. It is important that you get there because this is where you get the next theme card with four themes.

Time to start taking pictures!
Now it’s time to start photographing and capturing your best photos on this year’s themes. Keep in mind that the tasks must be photographed in the correct order, theme 1 before theme 2, etc.

Remember! You can only have one image per theme on your memory card when you go to the finish line or only one image per theme to upload from your mobile.

Checkpoint
Your theme card says where and when you need to show up at the next checkpoint. There are organizers who can answer questions and also the opportunity to rest for a while, clear among the pictures and meet other competitors.

Final question
It’s time to finish shooting.

Remember that all competition photos must be photographed within the specified time limit.

Finish
Time for the finish line. You are now welcome to upload your photos to the terminal.

If you took photos with a digital camera, you should now have one image per theme on your memory card, neither more nor less, and they should be taken in the correct order with theme 1 before theme 2, and so on.
If you are shooting with an analog camera, you must submit your film, which should have the images in the correct order.
If you are shooting with a mobile camera, you should have your photos in your photo library in the correct order.
There are people from the organizing team who help with all this.

Once you have uploaded your photos to one of our computers, you are officially at the finish line!

GOOD WORK!

Now you get a diploma etc. and then it’s time to go home and rest, and enjoy that you have completed a photo marathon.

After the finish

Print in progress
When everyone has finished, we in the organizing team start immediately with the follow-up work. All your photos are printed on contact maps which the jury will then assess.

We therefore ask you to keep your competition photos away from social media until the jury work is complete. If you want to share your photos, you can do so in the group for this year’s event here on the site.

Jury work
Mid-September

Our five jury members sit down and go through all the submitted photos. It is a solid job, and when they are done, they have chosen the winners of this year’s Stockholm Photo Marathon.

You will now receive an email confirming that it is ready and that you can share your competition photos on social media.

Exhibitions
During the autumn, we usually arrange a few exhibitions with the best pictures in different selected themes.

Keep an eye out for our news so you don’t miss anything!

Award ceremony
Finally, it’s time for the big award ceremony. Here we also exhibit ALL competition photos that have been taken during this year’s Stockholm Photo Marathon.

Info about when the award ceremony will take place in September. Keep an eye on our social media and subscribe to our newsletter so as not to miss it!
