From 29 to 30 November 2025, the spaces of Divadlo X10 in the center of Prague will once again host the ninth edition of the Frame Prague Comics Art Festival, the most important Czech showcase of contemporary authorial comics, illustration, self-publishing, and game art.

This event brings together small publishers, renowned authors, emerging creators, and professionals from all over Europe to present the very best of today’s comic art.

The theme of the 2025 festival is Childhood—experienced, reflected, and imagined. The festival’s dramaturgy highlights how essential childhood experiences are in visual storytelling: from intimate narratives and playful experiments to deeply thematic works that are unafraid to tackle complex subjects.

Visitors can look forward to a rich program full of exhibitions, discussions, author readings, and interactive workshops. Notable international guests include Cristian Robles (ES), Nando von Arb (CH), Nina Six (FR), and many others who will bring unique perspectives on contemporary European comics.

The festival also welcomes families with children—one of the highlights will be a discussion with Young Reviewers, a group of child critics who evaluate books through their own eyes. There will also be numerous creative workshops where both kids and adults can try their hand at making comics. The exhibition section will feature interactive projects such as The Landscape of Childhood and Between Play and Story, blending illustration, interactivity, and nostalgia.

The Frame Prague Comics Art Festival has long supported authorial comics as a distinctive medium at the intersection of visual art and literature. It creates a space for international cooperation, education, creative exchange, and inspiration—while also contributing to the growth and professionalization of the Czech comics scene.

The festival’s visual identity, designed by Slovak artist Tomáš Ciger (eniac), evokes the atmosphere of the 1980s and 1990s and reminds us that childhood imagination is an endless source of creativity.

Frame 2025 is the perfect opportunity to discover how vibrant and diverse the world of comics is today—and how deeply childhood can shape the stories we tell.
