Hiking over the city

Hiking in the Buda Hills with the Green Community Nature Lovers Association. There is something truly special about setting out on a hike where the noise of the city fades away behind you, yet it remains only a few minutes away. The Buda Hills always offer this experience: familiar, and yet inviting you to discover them again and again.

The Green Community Nature Lovers Association is organizing another group hike, guiding participants through some of the most iconic spots of the Buda Hills. Beautiful panoramas, quiet valleys, and unique rock formations await nature enthusiasts.

Departure from Kiskunhalas: 5:30 AM

Route:

Ördög-orom: A striking dolomite ridge within a protected natural area, offering magnificent views.

Normafa: One of Budapest’s most popular excursion spots, with large meadows perfect for resting and refreshment stands nearby.

Csacsi-rét: A meadow with scattered trees, beloved for picnics and relaxation, equipped with benches and open grassy areas.

János Hill and Erzsébet Lookout: The highest point of the Buda Hills (527 m). From the lookout tower, a clear day offers a panoramic view of Budapest, the Danube Bend, and surrounding mountains.

Tündér Cliffs: The final stop, where steep white limestone cliffs rise dramatically from the forest, forming a strictly protected natural treasure.

Useful information:

Sturdy hiking boots are strongly recommended.

Drinking water is limited along the route – bring your own supply.

Food and refreshments are available around Normafa and János Hill.

The trail follows marked tourist routes throughout, with moderate difficulty.

This group hike is a wonderful opportunity for both young and old to step away from the hustle of the city and rediscover the hidden treasures of the Buda Hills.
