Dachshund Meeting

A day when dachshunds from all over the country gather in one place. On May 18, the Dachshund Community celebrates its 25th jubilee – and this time, they’re preparing for the biggest celebration yet.

The 25th Dachshund Meetup is a true nationwide event for lovers of the breed: whether you have a purebred or a mixed dachshund, every long-bodied, short-legged pup and their owner is welcome. This year, once again, the event will take place at the Happy Dog Training School in Kőbánya, Budapest, where guests can enjoy a full day of exciting, varied, and entertaining dog-themed programs. The aim of the jubilee event goes beyond fun – it’s also about building community, promoting responsible dog ownership, and celebrating that timeless question: what makes dachshunds so special?

Program highlights include a Dachshund Beauty Show, Dachshund-and-Owner photo sessions, recall-and-eat contest, dog trivia quiz, veterinary advice sessions, dog massage, on-site custom dog tag engraving, a premium vendor fair, group photo opportunities, charity fundraising, and of course, a double raffle with valuable prizes. Veterinary professionals and pet service providers will be on-site, and there will be dedicated stands where visitors can support the Foundation for the Welfare of Dogs. Participation is open to both dog owners and dog lovers without pets, but all attending dogs must have valid rabies vaccination and a microchip. Dogs in heat are not allowed at the event.

The organizers emphasize that this event is not just for pedigree dachshunds: any dog with a dachshund look, spirit, or mix is warmly welcomed. The Dachshund Community is inclusive and open to all. Entry is by donation, and proceeds help support future events and charitable causes.
