Kitten Adoption Day

On April 13, 2025, Sunday, the Macskavilág Foundation will host a truly special event for cat lovers at Cat Café Budapest, located in the heart of the city. This adoption day is not only about the cats but also for them: it offers a cozy, supportive community space where those who are interested in adopting a rescued cat can meet with the four-legged friends who are waiting for a loving family.

Cat Café Budapest, Hungary’s first cat café, is the ideal venue for this event. The pleasant café atmosphere, the presence of purring cats, and the friendly environment will help attendees get to know their potential new pet in a calm setting.

The Macskavilág Foundation’s goal is not only to find homes for cats but also to ensure that responsible pet owners are found—people who will take care of their cats with love and commitment, keeping them indoors and looking after them long-term. During the adoption day, visitors can personally meet the rescued cats, talk to the foundation’s staff, and ask for advice on all aspects of cat care—whether it’s feeding, hygiene practices, or veterinary care.

This event is particularly special because it also has an artistic dimension: painters Ágnes Sziráki and Szilvia Novák have generously donated their artworks to support the cause. The paintings will be displayed at the venue and are available for purchase. The proceeds will go entirely toward the cats’ care. Children will also enjoy the event, as the organizers have prepared fun mystery box games for them.

As the medical care, daily care, and feeding of rescued animals are significant financial burdens on the foundation, the event will also serve as a fundraiser. Visitors can support the foundation’s work with monetary donations or by bringing items. The foundation is currently in urgent need of the following donations:

• Vetri DMG immune-boosting supplement

• High-quality dry food (Hill’s, Josera, Royal Canin, Concept for Life)

• Bed pads (diapers) to maintain a hygienic environment

• Ceramic bowls, as these wear out quickly among cats due to frequent use
