Between August 6 and 11, one of the world’s most exciting festival venues comes to life once again on a green island in northern Budapest. Under the trees of Óbuda Island, Sziget Festival returns with its unique atmosphere: six days filled with music, art, community, and freedom. In 2025, the event once again promises an unmatched variety of experiences, where global stars and independent culture stand side by side, and where dialogue and diversity have a place alongside the biggest concerts.
This year’s music lineup is as impressive as ever. On the Main Stage, world-famous artists such as Dua Lipa, known for her global pop hits, Kendrick Lamar, a Grammy-winning rapper with bold lyrics, and the legendary alternative rock band The Killers will take the spotlight. Fans of British indie-pop can look forward to a performance by Nothing But Thieves, while those who prefer heavier beats can dance to the sets of Amelie Lens, Adam Beyer, and South Korean electronic music phenomenon Peggy Gou.
But Sziget has always offered much more than just concerts. The Cirque du Sziget brings extraordinary contemporary circus performances from around the world, while the Global Village and Freedom Village offer multicultural shows, thought-provoking installations, and spaces for meaningful discussions. The Magic Mirror returns with film screenings, performances, and theatre pieces, all created in the spirit of openness and self-expression.
During the day, visitors can take part in yoga and movement workshops, enjoy art performances, or explore civil organizations’ initiatives. For those looking to unwind, shaded rest areas, chill-out zones, and riverside paths offer a chance to relax between events.
The gastronomic offerings reflect the diversity of the festival’s international audience. In addition to classic festival snacks, food stalls serve up cuisine from around the world, with a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options, specialty coffee, and craft drinks. Sziget also places strong emphasis on sustainability every year, promoting environmentally conscious solutions, recycling, and mindful presence throughout the festival grounds.
Sziget is not just an event – it’s a world that comes alive for six days. Whether someone attends for one concert or stays the entire week with a tent, they are guaranteed to leave with memories that last long after the music fades.
