The Hungarian House of Music offers visitors and music fans a year-round exhibition of high quality. The exhibition and concert space, built in the heart of the City Park, is the perfect place for the whole family to relax. If you want to immerse yourself in an immersive and interactive exhibition, visit the House of Music this year, where you can choose from a selection of temporary exhibitions alongside the permanent exhibition.
The Hungarian House of Music has a special musical exhibition that presents the most important stages in the history of music, with a European and Hungarian focus. Starting with ancient rhythms and continuing through to the 21st century, it tells the story of music through the cycle of life, passing through the most important turning points in music history and highlighting iconic artists. Two to three hours are recommended for the permanent, interactive exhibition Sound Dimensions – Musical Journeys in Space and Time. The exhibition makes good use of technology and playfully engages the visitor to provide new insights into music. The Hungarian House of Music: tree of life in the grove. Its golden leaves and slender columns give it a crown and trunk. Now we stand at the roots. It is from here that the institution draws its spiritual nourishment. The roots, like a labyrinth, are intertwined. We walk among them. In time and space, we begin our journey of discovery very deeply: at the birth of music, then we tap into the roots of Hungarian folk music and European music. Through the centuries, we follow the life of music and what the orderly succession of sounds has meant to people, especially Hungarians, in the light and sometimes shadow of Europe. The exhibition speaks for itself, or rather it makes music, because everywhere you turn you hear music. Here, the subject of the exhibition is music itself. Listen to the music! – we can say freely, after Shakespeare, but not only to what comes out of your headphones, but also to what is around you and within you. By the time we reach the end of our walk, many sounds will be etched in your mind and soul.
