Chinese New Year Festival

On 18-19 January, the Chinese community in Hungary will once again welcome the Chinese New Year with cultural events. ChinaTown will offer visitors unforgettable experiences and festive decorations, giving them the opportunity to immerse themselves in Chinese culture. Among the many activities will be folk song and dance performances, traditional handicraft and martial arts demonstrations, and excellent food stalls.

Entrance and parking are free.

-Quanzhou, a coastal city in Fujian province, was the premier port and cultural capital of eastern China during the Song and Yuan dynasties (960-1368 AD). It has twenty-two sites on Unesco’s World Heritage List and six Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage such as Nanyin folk music, marionette and tea-making techniques.
-First stop of the European tour of the Quanzhou Heritage Centre delegation – Budapest. Professional performers and master craftsmen will delight us with the following unique festival programs:

Visitors can try dragon dancing, Chinese calligraphy and participate in many other interactive activities.
Food stalls and 16 Chinese restaurants offer festive and a la carte menus.
