Advent Stories For Children

The Buda Castle welcomes children to an exciting festive, museum-pedagogical event every Sunday from November 27 until the middle of December. During the program, participants can learn about the origins of Christmas customs and traditions through various stories, and they can also make their own Christmas tree decorations inspired by Zsolnay.

During the Advent period, we invite children to an exciting museum pedagogy session, where we trace the traditions and customs of Christmas. How long have we been putting up a Christmas tree and why do we put “szaloncukor” on the branches? How did the members of the royal family celebrate Christmas when they were in Buda?
But we admire the wonderful Zsolnay decoration of the Szent István room bathed in light, and we also talk about what motifs were used in the famous Pécs factory before Christmas. Finally, everyone can make their own Christmas tree decoration inspired by Zsolnay.

❗The program was designed for 6-11-year-olds, so please buy a ticket for a child of the appropriate age so that all participants can enjoy the session!
❗ We ask that the child participates with an adult companion, and places the registration ticket in the basket. (1 child can be accompanied by 1 person, 2 or more children can be accompanied by a maximum of 2 adults.)
❗The capacity of the exhibition is limited, so adult companions can partially participate in the session. During the program, the adults can visit “The Hauszmann story” exhibition for free by presenting your accompanying ticket.
