This year marks the 20th edition of Budapest Design Week, which is preparing to be the most comprehensive event ever with the largest selection of events. Celebrating its anniversary, the festival is a creative industry event that extends far beyond the capital and serves as the annual showcase of the design profession in Hungary. This year, the Ethnographic Museum will host the colorful event, which will look back over the last two decades and showcase its outstanding design moments.
The program will showcase iconic Hungarian creations, their designers and studios, address opinion leaders from the creative industries, and offer a glimpse into the diverse future of design, as well as a look back at the past.
The past 20 years of the festival are brought to life on the budapestdesignweek.hu website and social media pages with the help of the BDW founders, current curators, organisers and partners, as well as the design week archive.
The results and memories of the festival will be brought to life and browsed through an extraordinary journey through time at the central venue of BDW20, the Ethnographic Museum. In addition to the chamber exhibition, the public will also have the opportunity to see the winners of this year’s Hungarian Design Award and Design Management Award.
The festival will also give an insight into the most successful Open Studios of the last 20 years.
As well as celebrating achievements, the event will also offer a glimpse into the future at BDW20’s central venue, the Ethnographic Museum:
