Budapest Design Week

This October, creativity and innovation will once again take over Budapest. For 12 days, Budapest Design Week offers exhibitions, workshops, talks, and city explorations. The festival’s mission is to bring design into everyday thinking, making it more than just a visual spectacle.

This year’s theme, “Fluid Boundaries,” highlights the blurring of limits between materials, technologies, disciplines, and roles. Alongside Budapest, nine other cities – Debrecen, Győr, Kecskemét, Pécs, Sopron, Szentendre, Székesfehérvár, Tata, and Veszprém – will also host programs, turning the event into a nationwide celebration of design.

With more than 170 events on the agenda, visitors can discover a mix of world-class exhibitions, conferences, and award ceremonies. Both renowned Hungarian designers and emerging talents will showcase their work, inviting audiences to explore how design shapes everyday life.

In addition, numerous open studios, workshops, panel discussions, guided tours, and outdoor installations will bring design to life across the city. The festival serves both as a professional platform and a community experience, bringing contemporary design closer to the public.
