Summer Cinema in Augarten

A warm summer evening, a baroque park in the heart of Vienna, and outstanding film art under the open sky – that’s Kino wie noch nie, the open-air festival hosted by Filmarchiv Austria. From June 26 to August 24, 2025, the Augartenspitz once again becomes a unique cultural venue where film, music, and culinary delights merge into a truly special summer experience.

Each evening from 9:30 PM (from August already at 9:00 PM), a carefully curated film program lights up the large screen – ranging from cinematic classics and recent releases to rare festival gems. The lineup also includes live music evenings (“Summer of Voices”), filmmaker talks, and special tribute nights celebrating influential female directors and composers.

A highlight of the 2025 season is once again the focus on the connection between film and music. Opera films, concert recordings, and musical documentaries create a memorable atmosphere under the stars.

For refreshments, the Grünstern Garden Kitchen offers a delicious variety of organic burgers, vegetarian dishes, fish specialties, and an extensive drink menu – perfect for relaxing and enjoying the evening. A night at Augarten promises not just cinematic, but also culinary enjoyment.

Tickets & Schedule:
The box office opens at 7:00 PM. Single tickets cost around €10, with discounted tickets for pupils, students, and seniors available from about €6–7. Ten-entry passes are also available at reduced prices. Early online reservations are strongly recommended, especially for popular screenings.
