Run for the Memory of the Nation

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the eleventh edition of the Run for the Memory of Nations will take place in Prague, organized by the non-profit organization Post Bellum.

This important run commemorates the stories of those who stood up against totalitarian regimes and fought for freedom. The event takes place annually in several locations across the Czech Republic and offers participants not only a sporting challenge but also a deep reflection on historical events.

In Prague, the race will be held in the beautiful Hvězda Game Reserve, with the start and finish located on the Na Vypichu plain. Races available include 5 km and 10 km runs, a 4×2.5 km relay, and a short 1 km route ideal for families, including parents with strollers. Children can participate in races of 200 m or 500 m.

Participants can mark their race bibs with the name of someone whose story inspires them to perseverance and courage. This symbolic act gives the run a personal dimension and commemorates all those who did not give up.

Proceeds from registrations will go towards recording the memories of witnesses, supporting educational programs in schools, and helping seniors through the Memory of Nations Help Center.

If someone cannot attend the official races in Prague, they can join the Run Anywhere initiative, where participants can run a route anywhere during the month of May and still receive a race bib.
