Matthew Halsall

Trumpeter, composer and record label executive Matthew Halsall brings his meditative modal jazz to Kungsgatan 63 for an evening of heart, soul and spirit. Halsall’s music is inspired by the spiritual jazz of Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders and Miles Davis, with trip hop influences in the footsteps of The Cinematic Orchestra.

With over fifteen years and eight studio albums and his own independent label Gondwana Records under his belt, Halsall has chiseled out an uplifting, soulful music with a sound that professes the spiritual or spiritual jazz as we know it from the aforementioned Coltrane and Sanders combined with more electronic references.

Till Fasching kommer Halsall med sitt studioband som framför musik från senaste albumet An Ever Changing View i kombination med Halsalls rika katalog.
