With his husky yet expressive voice, Iron & Wine creates truly timeless songs. Accompanied by an acoustic guitar, he makes time and space disappear, and what began as a bedroom project has now evolved into a thriving career packed with sonic highlights. Now it’s time to return to Sweden for two concerts – November 5 at Göta Lejon in Stockholm and November 7 at Pustervik in Gothenburg.
Having been discovered by the Sub Pop label with an acclaimed debut album in 2002, it was really with album number two that things started to take off for Sam Beam and his Iron & Wine project. Our Endless Numbered Days is an album that in many ways defined the indie scene in the 00s, and earned Beam comparisons to artists like Nick Drake and Simon & Garfunkel. At the same time, his music began to be used in several movies (In Good Company, Twilight, I’m Not There) and TV shows (O.C., Grey’s Anatomy, L Word, One Tree Hill) – precisely because of its ability to put emotions into words and explain what otherwise feels impossible to explain.
