Musical Advent Calendar (MUAD)

The Musical Advent Calendar (MUAD) 2025, a unique music and culture festival that transforms the city into one big Advent stage, is taking place in Vienna again this year. The festival starts on 1 December and runs until 24 December 2025, with a new concert or cultural event taking place at a different location in Vienna every day.

MUAD differs from traditional Christmas markets or concerts in that it focuses on independent artists and different styles of music – from indie pop and singer-songwriters to experimental music and improvisation. In addition to musical performances, the festival also offers workshops, cultural programs and children’s events, reflecting the city’s diverse culture.

The aim of the festival is to create an intimate and personal atmosphere that connects the community and shows Vienna from an unconventional perspective. Some events are free to attend, others are chargeable, with ticket prices ranging from around €20 to €32. MUAD is ideal for anyone who wants to discover the city off the beaten tourist track, get to know the local music scene and experience unconventional Christmas concerts and performances.

The festival also offers the opportunity to spend the Advent season in a creative, musical and culturally rich way.
