Discover the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art. Are you a lover of modern art and are you thinking about visiting some museums? If you said yes, you’re in the right place! The National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art houses the most valuable collection dedicated to Italian and foreign art from the 19th century to the present.
There are almost 20,000 works, paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations. There are valuable works from the period of neoclassicism, impressionism, the historical avant-garde, the beginning of the twentieth century, the period of futurism and surrealism, and last but not least there are works from the period of Italian art in the 20s and 40s of the 20th century.
However, we must also not forget the authors who created the works. We can mention the most famous authors: Antonio Canova, Giacomo Balla, Alighiero Boetti, Alberto Burri, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Paul Cézanne, Giorgio De Chirico, Marcel Duchamp, Lucio Fontana, Alberto Giacometti, Francesco Hayez, Gustav Klimt, Joseph Kosuth, Jannis Kounellis, Amedeo Monoun, Amedeo Monlia, Claude Monet, Pino Pascali, Vincent van Gogh and others.
The gallery is open every day except Monday from 9 AM until 7 PM. Many exhibitions are organized here, which attract people not only from Italy but also from abroad. The gallery of modern and contemporary art is an international museum, as it offers works of world-famous artists not only from Italy.
You can get to it very easily, whether you go by subway, train or bus. In addition, the National Gallery guarantees full accessibility for people with disabilities, who can benefit from a lift, a lifting platform and convenient services.
